The HARZKUGELEUM is an adventure museum in which you can wander through various themed worlds that present everything worth knowing about the Lower Harz, mining, nature and local and regional history through the ages in an entertaining way.
In the interactive exhibition of the HARZKUGELEUM, things really get going. At the entrance, you will be given a beechwood ball that you can roll energetically along ball tracks, balance skillfully over metal rails or carefully drop into holes. If you get the hang of it, a wonderful world of knowledge opens up at every station. Learning can be so entertaining!

Immerse yourself in different themed worlds:
- The Lower Harz region and its special features
- Mining history of the Selketal and the Harz Mountains
- Natural history of the region
- Local and regional history through the ages
You will find plenty of free parking spaces without time limits at “Am Torteich” and “Am Wallgarten”.
Small, house-trained dogs may be taken into the exhibition rooms. A bowl of fresh water is available in the courtyard.

Anyone who can’t get enough of the (learning) fun in the HARZKUGELEUM can switch to the HARZER KUGELsPASS adventure trail after the museum visit with the beechwood ball in their luggage. The trail starts near the castle and complements the exhibition in the HARZKUGELEUM. In Harzgerode, a visit to the museum is a well-rounded experience for the whole family!
