nachhaltigkeit im Selketal
Into the future with modern tourism concepts
The Selketal stretches from the source of the Selke near Stiege at an altitude of around 520 m to where the Selke flows into the Bode in the Harz foreland near Hedersleben. At higher altitudes, the landscape is characterized by extensive mixed forests, while extensive meadows predominate at lower altitudes. A total of 660 hectares of the Selketal have been designated as a nature reserve. This biotope with healthy forests and nutrient-rich, clean waters is home to rare plant and animal species worthy of protection. Our task as a community is to protect the Selketal ecosystem in the long term.
Gentle, sustainable tourism helps to preserve the sensitive ecosystem of the Selketal for flora and fauna, while at the same time preserving the Selketal region, which is rich in nature and history, as an attractive tourist destination. Our sustainability concept provides for the sustainable development of tourism for the benefit of guests and the local population from an economic, social and aesthetic point of view, so that the Selketal remains unique for people and nature in the long term.
