The Selketal offers the perfect backdrop: Nestled in the picturesque Harz mountains and surrounded by dense, green forests, numerous idyllic lakes, ponds and outdoor pools for swimming and splashing around. Whether with family, friends or alone – in the Selketal you will find your favorite spot for relaxing sunbathing at all the bathing waters. Simply relax and unwind while enjoying nature and bathing fun.
Relax at an idyllic bathing spot in the middle of the forest: the pear tree pond is part of a campsite and offers a wonderful sandy beach, a sunbathing lawn and a bathing pontoon.
A boat rental service provides additional water fun. If you want to go for a spin around the lake, you can hire a bike, scooter or quad bike. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy beach volleyball, basketball and playgrounds.
The historic Birnbaumteich was created in 1699 as a smelting pond and was used to supply water to the mining shafts. Today it is a popular recreational and bathing lake with an area of 4.5 hectares and also serves as flood relief.

The “Albertine” leisure park with its enchanting outdoor pool invites you to enjoy a variety of activities. In addition to a two-court sports hall and a sports field, the outdoor pool offers numerous attractions for young and old and was voted one of the seven most beautiful pools in the Harz Nature Park.
Visitors can look forward to a 25-metre swimming pool with 5 lanes, an adventure pool with a water mushroom, splash shower, spray bollards, current channel, floor air bubbles and massage jets. For the little ones, there is a paddling pool with “Bubu” the rhino. Other highlights include the 65-metre giant slide, a warm-up hall, a beach volleyball court and an 18-hole mini golf course.
