About the Harzgerode Advent trails

Harzgerode Advent trails – discover, stop off, enjoy. An annual pre-Christmas experience for the whole family on the 2nd Advent in a town that heralds the most beautiful time of the year in an atmospheric and unmistakable way – typically Harzgerode!

With a great deal of hard work and dedication, the tradespeople worked together with local businesses and associations as well as numerous volunteers and municipal employees to prepare this event. Christmas-themed shop windows, hundreds of glass lanterns along the paths, gift bags for the children taking part in the program, surprise packages for Santa’s consultation hour, a Christmas bet for winter sports enthusiasts, light decorations and fragrant fir greenery everywhere – these are just some of the ingredients that make the 17th edition of the “Harzgerode Advent Trails” endearing and unique.

The town of Harzgerode has 3 strong locations, each of which has unique selling points that are presented as an experience with great diversity in the triad of “St. Mary’s Church / Market Square / Harzgerode Castle”.

Santa Claus is out and about every day in the city center around the magnificent town hall and St. Mary’s Church. The stores offer their own activities such as “twisted candle arch” and “light bulb exchange 200” at Elektrohaus Schlink and “discount dice” at Wäschegalerie Trog, and invite all small children to the stamp tour and all older children to the crib puzzle tour, as a result of which they can pick up wonderful presents when they visit Santa’s office.
